Visual Inspection

RotorWorks LLC performs periodic visual inspections of Right-of-Ways for monitoring of encroachments, vegetation management, environmental concerns, structure stability and maintenance related items (Aerial patrol). Aerial patrols can be reported and tailored to customers’ standards. With the use of photos and/or video, the report can be enhanced and the extra visual information often eliminates the need for further assessment of the report.

The use of a helicopter has advantages over a fixed wing patrol. The helicopter allows RotorWorks to document problems by going lower and slower to assess the severity of problems. With the enhanced capability of a helicopter, RotorWorks can land on scene and do further investigations.

RotorWorks does not perform comprehensive aerial inspections.

Capabilities

Our main specialty is InfraRed (IR), but with an IR inspection we provide a host of other services which includes a visual inspection of:

4. Component Damage - insulators, conductors, overhead ground, cross arms, etc.

1. Collection of structure numbers and coordinates for GIS work
2. Scenario testing of loads at specific temperatures over periods of time (allows for clients to better understand the needs for simulating a desired environment
3. Corrosion evaluation of structures
4. Corrosion evaluation of overhead ground and storm damage
5. Switch Program (thermal evaluation and GIS picture of each switch)
6. Aerial crossing location for a re-string project with IR inspection for problems
